By discussing the value of PhD practice-based research for architects and interior designers and showcasing examples of reflective industry-based PhD practice, this lecture will highlight a particular mode of PhD practice-based research – reflective industry-based PhD practice. Involving practitioners from Europe, UK, USA and Asia, the program explores key themes and issues in our practice as a research focus, exploring tacit understandings and testing new ideas and ways of working.
Dr. Susie Attiville is Professor of Interior Design in the School of Architecture and Urban Design at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and currently leads the PhD Interior Design practice research team in Australia, Europe and Asia.
